Friday Night Football

Today I am remembering September 11th. I can't believe that it has already been 8 years since that tragic day. I remember exactly what I was doing and it is one of those moments that I will never forget. I have been discussing September 11th with my students and this year's juniors were in 3rd grade during September 11th!!! Isn't that unbelievable!!! It is amazing what they don't know and I have decided that I will have to officially start teaching September 11th to my students next year. It is something that I think is critical for me to teach and for them to understand since it is still affecting us today.

Tonight Jeremy and I decided to go and check out the BPHS dragon football team this year. Before the game we headed over to Troy's house in Belle Plaine where they were having a little cookout for the teacher's before the game. This is something new that they are trying to start with the faculty to try to get more teachers to come to the games so I decided to go and check it out. Troy did a great job of cooking burgers and hot dogs and it was fun to relax with the teachers before going to the game. The game did not turn out so well to say the least. We lost against Wichita Independent when we were favored to win by the Wichita Eagle. They fumbled several times throughout the night and have some learning to do still. Hopefully they will be able to squeeze out a win this year.
