Kansas City Getaway!!

On Saturday morning Jeremy and I headed up to Kansas City. We got to KC in the early afternoon and went to the Plaza. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen and it was delicious!! We were thinking that we needed one in Wichita. After we ate our pizza we shopped around the Plaza and found some sweet gear for game day the next day.

On Saturday night we went out to a nice steakhouse called J.Gilbert's. They are known for their woodfire steaks. We were celebrating my dad's birthday and Jeremy getting his new job at Hawker Beechcraft!! We splurged and the food was delicious!

After dinner, we went to the Ameristar Casino where my parents were staying with the Ashes. We decided to do a little gambling. We were checking out the table games and were trying to learn some of the poker table games that Jeremy might want to play. We were watching them how to play a game called Flop Poker. The dealer was really nice as well as the people so they seemed like they would help Jeremy to learn how to play. He must have had beginner's luck because he ended up getting a full house on one hand and ended up winning $300!!!!! I told him to give that to me immediately so I could put it in my pocket and he wouldn't spend it or lose it! :):) I eventually had to pull him away from the table around 1:45a.m. He brought home $500 dolllars!!! SAWEET!! I think he found his new favorite game.

FOUR HOURS LATER, we got up to get ready to go to the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants game. We picked up Mel and Edgie by 7:15 so that we could meet the parental units and then ride together to the game. We ended up getting to the stadium around 8:30-9 so that we could get our tailgate on!!

We had a great spot to tailgate, right next to the entrance. Mike and Jennifer got there early and got us a prime location!!! We cooked out, drank some beer, and played a little ladderball before the game. It was so much fun and amazing to see all of the fans that come out to tailgate.

Getting tatted up to show our true game day spirit!!

The crew hanging out on a b-e-a-utiful game day morning

I'm enjoying a cold one before the game

Sisters in front of the stadium.

This was our view from our tailgating spot, pretty awesome huh?!?

This is a view of the parking lot from the stadium. You can see our tailgating spot from the stadium, just behind the port-a-pots. P.S. they had portajohns just for women only. It was freaking AWESOME!! I think that was the first time that I have ever seen men waiting LONGER than women for the portapotties!! hehehe:):):)

The Chiefs running out on to the field. This is the view from our original seats.

Later, we snuck over to sit by the family. I got tickets for the game for Jeremy's birthday and then later the family decided to go to so we decided to go and sit by them.

Edge and Mel (dang Giants fan, but he was a good sport)

Jeremy and I at the game

Our sad and sunburned faces because the Chiefs lost 16-27.

After the game we did a little after game tailgating and ended up getting kicked out by the KCPD around 4:30. Kinda gay! We went back to Ameristar and ended up taking a nap at the hotel. Jeremy had to go home because he was the ONLY ONE that had to work the next day. It was going to be his first day on the JOB. I went ahead and took Monday off to hang out with the fam. When we woke up we went to check out the Harrah's Casino. I played a little blackjack, but didn't end up winning any money.
Monday we went to eat some barbeque on the Plaza and then dropped Mel and Edgie off at the airport. We had soooooo much F-U-N at the game! We are officially addicted Chiefs fans (even though they suck) and hope that we will be able to go to another game ASAP!!
